I loved this podcast and your discussion. As an older human who has gone through my life’s journey for 60 years now, I have learned that I have so much more to learn! :) I believe it is in our culture to be so independent and not burden others with our burdens. It seriously is a pride issue. We all have community whether or not we choose to actually be a part of it. Social media has done all of us such a disservice in that we waste so much time looking at a screen instead of in person with others. That in itself is depressing. We are all social creatures. David Zahl hit the nail on the head, saying even since Covid people are not gathering together as often. Weekly friends/community gatherings are more and more unusual. This winter was very long, especially the November thru February months. I was depressed, like you said, felt heavy, like trying to walk through quicksand. Now that it is March, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! It will be several months still with snow, but Spring will eventually come!
This was a delightful episode!
Oh and I wanted to give you another character whom I’m certain you know. We don’t want to be an Eyore! :)
