Today I share a favourite memory from Paris: an educational visit to the local Cave á Vin (wine shop). I recorded more episodes from our visits to the wine shop, which were each equally quirky and pleasant. I can share those as well if readers are interested.
The Wine Cave:
I had decided to make ratatouille, so we went in search of a wine to go with it. In France, many wine shops are called “cave á vin”—wine cave. I find this charming even though I think it is merely the literal word for a wine cellar which, when you think about it, really is a cave for wine. We go to the wine cave we’ve been to once before but today there is a different attendant. I notice that he is wearing a boygenius t-shirt, an American band I listen to sometimes.
